From The Principal

As the principal of Laurel Elementary for the past 13 years it has been my privilege to lead an amazing group of dedicated teachers and support staff to serve the students of Laurel. 

Laurel currently serves a diverse student populations of over 400 of Oakland's best and brightest. In our work we emphasize the importance of building close, caring relationship with our students in an environment that is safe and supportive. Our goal is to help each and every one of them to thrive and reach their fullest potential. 

We do this work in partnership with our students' parents and caregivers and with the support of the larger Laurel community. We encourage parents and the community to get involved by seeking out volunteer opportunities and by participating in our school Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
